5 Tips to keep your New Year, New Gut Resolutions

If you have digestive issues you may have decided it’s time to take control of your gut! This is great news and the start of your journey to good gut health. Here are some new year resolutions from our Blog to get you started:

Just a few weeks into the New Year, many already have a hard time trying to stick to their resolutions. The journey to good gut health can take time, so stick with it. Here are some useful tips to help you keep your New Year, New Gut Resolutions.

1. Track Your Progress

This is so easy now with many great apps designed to track food intake, digestive issues, bowel movements, stress levels, and exercise – allowing you to set reminders to drink water and to take your daily supplements. So, if you are finding it hard to keep a food diary and some days you are forgetting to take Alflorex®, make it easier by using a simple app that will do the work for you!


2. Anticipate problems 

Make a list of projected problems -  plan ahead. Examples might be working long hours, or an unexpected long journey. Write out solutions to these problems and you will feel more prepared. The answer could be a snack in your desk drawer or your workbag!

3. Reward yourself 

Making changes to your daily life can be hard to do. Each day that you keep your resolution is a success! You deserve a reward! Buy yourself a new book, get the weekly magazine you like, treat yourself to a night out at the cinema.  By positively reinforcing your good work with a reward, you’ll want to keep going and stay on track.

4. Share your resolutions 

This doesn’t mean you need to post them on your Facebook page… but tell your family or a friend. Their encouragement can go a long way. You could even ask someone to be your resolution buddy. Someone else who is trying to make a change this year. You can both update each other on progress and support one another if you hit a bump in the road. Keep motivating each other to succeed and you won’t want to give up.
